The Path, an AI therapy platform focused on mental wellness, has raised $14.3 million in seed funding, according to the report. Prime Movers Lab led the round, with participation from Apolo Anton Ohno, Deontay Wilder, Designer Fund and others. The company was cofounded by Tony Robbins; Anson Whitmer, a founding member of the Calm app and former leader of its data science and AI team; and Tyler Sheaffer, founder of Calm’s engineering team.
The Path, formerly Mental, offers a subscription-based AI mental health app with an anti-validation architecture, the company says. It is “built to challenge you, not agree with you” and utilizes clinical frameworks and practices, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavior therapy and solution-focused brief therapy.
Tony Robbins said in a statement, “I’ve spent decades studying human potential, and I know that the gap between hitting rock bottom and getting real help is where too many people disappear. That gap is a crisis.” He believes The Path is delivering what the industry has failed to: personalized, accessible support for anyone who needs it, anytime they need it.
A recent poll found that around one-third (32%) of U.S. adults have used AI chatbots for health information in the past year. Around three in 10 (29%) adults polled sought information about their physical health, while one in six (16%) sought information about their mental health.
Younger adults are more likely to seek information about their health than older adults, particularly when it comes to mental health. The poll’s findings suggest a growing trend in the use of AI for health-related purposes.

The poll was conducted by the Kaiser Family Foundation in March, which provides insight into the growing demand for AI-powered health solutions.
Meanwhile, HIMSS is hosting the one-day AI Executive Leadership Summit in Boston on June 24, 2026, followed by its AI in Healthcare Forum June 25-26. Registration for the two events is available on the organization’s website.
The Path’s seed funding and growing demand for AI-powered health solutions highlight the need for innovative approaches to mental health support. As they continue to develop their platform, it may help address the gap in mental health support that Tony Robbins mentioned in his statement.
With $14.3 million in funding, The Path is well-positioned to expand its services and reach a wider audience. They will focus on personalized, accessible support to help bridge the gap between those seeking help and available resources, utilizing clinical frameworks and practices.
